Jeffrey Gunner WilhiteNovember 20, 1996 ~ April 18, 2017 (age 20)
Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, Jeffrey Gunner Wilhite, passed from this earthly life Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Gunner was born in Payson, Utah on November 20, 1996. The oldest son of Jeffrey and Tricia Wilhite, he has four siblings, Naomi, Isaac, London and Zuri. Each had a tender and loving relationship with Gunner and he will be dearly missed.
Gunner was a force. He was inquisitive, driven, brave, kind, smart, athletic, fun, handsome and loving. Football, soccer, basketball and golf were his favorite sports and he had a love for his teammates and friends. He had a passion for music and was often found with a pair of Beats around his neck. His cousins will remember the many family games they all enjoyed playing around the kitchen table late into the night, especially spades and monopoly.
He will be remembered for his winning smile, his dimples, his charisma, his love for friends and family, and his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was as comfortable on the ski slopes of Utah as he was surfing the waves of a California beach. Gunner loved to work hard and play hard. Successful at every business endeavor, he enjoyed taking entrepreneurial risks.
Gunner is survived by his immediate family as well as grandparents Wilbur and Louise Wilhite of Cedar Hills, Utah and John and Louise Harrington of Eagle Mountain, Utah. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and thirty three cousins who will remember him with love, grateful for the memories they have shared.
As many who love Gunner know, he struggled with the pain of an imperfect world. Through his challenging journey, he never wavered in his faith in Christ, his love of family, or his awareness of his divine heritage as a son of God. He had great examples in his life who taught him well. His desire in this earthly life was to serve a mission and we are confident that he will accomplish this goal on the other side of the veil. We take comfort in the knowledge that he is now in the care of the perfect Counselor, Savior and Friend.
