June 10, 1949 ~ June 30, 2009

Robert Carl Olson, 60, of American Fork passed away June 30, 2009 of complications from cancer.   Robert was born June 10, 1949 in Orem to Hebert O. and Ila Jolley Olson.  He married Kay Whiting and together had two children.  They were later divorced. 

Robert grew up in Orem and graduated from Orem High School in 1967.  Robert worked at Geneva Steel for 17 years.  He was employed for the past 24 years with South Valley Water Reclamation in West Jordan as a water treatment inspector. 

Robert had a great love for his dogs and enjoyed being outdoors.  He loved spending time with his good friends and family.  His greatest love in life was his children. 

He is survived by two children: Matthew (Deana) Olson, Orem and Emily Olson, American Fork; two sisters: Penny (Jim) Hutchings, St. George and Arlene (Larry) Egelund, Riverton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may call for a viewing from 9-10:45 a.m.  Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
