Jill Christensen Erekson

September 7, 1957 ~ July 13, 2009

Jill Christensen Erekson, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt, and friend was called home to our Heavenly Father on July 13, 2009, being greeted by loved ones with open arms much sooner than we had wished.

Jill was born to William G. Christensen and Georgia Dade Christensen on September 7, 1957 in Salt Lake City, the fourth of five children.  Jill graduated from American Fork High School in 1975.

Jill married the love of her life and soulmate, Tim Meredith Erekson on November 28, 1975.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 8, 1979 for time and all eternity.  They made their home in Highland, Utah and raised four beautiful children together.

Jill accomplished many things in her life.  She will be remembered for filling our hearts and lives with love and laughter as she mentored many people throughout her life.  She taught her children through her example with all her talents and inspiration that will live on in our lives forever.  Jill has been the seed in our home that will forever stay bloomed.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife and truly loving mother. Her sunshine will be deeply missed by all.  WE LOVE YOU!

She is survived by her husband Tim Meredith Erekson; children: Tammy  Erekson (Jon); T. J. Erekson (Joy); Ryan Erekson (Summer); Krystle Swenson Erekson; grandchildren: Bailee, Kanyon, Zachary, Braxton, Hunter, Jordyn, Kaydence, Kabrie, and Kaylia; mother, Georgia Dade Christensen; brother, Gary Christensen; sisters: Pam Thomas (Gary); Karen Floyd (Steve) and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.   She was preceded in death by her son, Justin Owen Erekson; father, William G. Christensen and father and mother in law, Alma Owen Erekson and St. Claire Meredith Erekson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Fourth Ward Chapel, 1136 West Sam White Lane, Pleasant Grove.  Family and friends  may attend at viewing Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Jill Erekson’s name, to help with final expenses.

Dear family, no words can express how empty Jill's passing has left us all. Gary, Pam & Karen, we know how you feel, as she is like our little sister also. Jill's sweet spirit will be with us forever. Although she is gone we have consolation in that fact that her pain is now over, but she will always exist in our hearts.
Sorrow we feel today, sweet memories of her will replace that sadness. Gone too soon for all of us left behind, home to heaven where those waiting to reunite with her and a glorious reunion. Tammy, TJ & Ryan, show your children the sweetness your mother gave to the world. She left this world better, milder and sweeter.
We carry on as we should, teaching and sharing what she taught us. God bless you all.
Love, Uncle Gordon and Aunt Claudia

Dear Tim,
I am so sorry to read of Jill's passing. I am in Korea on a mission with my husband, or I would surely have been to her funeral to pay my last respects. She was such an influence of joy as we shared friendship and special moments together in our younger days. May you and your children be comforted and strengthened in her absence.

Dear Georgia&family, We are so sorry for your loss. I know loosing Jill is so very hard for you all. She worked so hard to take care of her family and she worked her jobs the same way to make sure they had what they needed. I know Heavenly Father welcomed her with open arms. In the stillness of the night I am sure she is with you and you will feel her loving hands touch your cheek. We love you all so much. Geneal and Claudia.
