John F. Gibbons, age 77, of Pittsburgh, PA died on October 15, 2009 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born September 21, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA to Nathaniel “Skip” Gibbons and Amelia Bruno. He married Cathy (Rena) Cecchini March 7, 1958. They had three daughters and later divorced. He attended Oliver High School and was the first in his family to graduate. He was a beauty supply salesman for 44 years. He worked for Bruno Brothers, Raylon Corporation, and had his own business, Pittsburgh Beauty Supply. He won many awards for his sales volume. His favorite hobby was golf, he loved to dance, and was a passionate Steelers fan. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, affection, and devotion to his daughters. He is survived by his three daughters, Lynne (Phil) Windley of Lindon, UT, Kim Vitelli of Blackfoot, ID, Tracy Gibbons of Murray, UT as well as 12 grandchildren and his brother Michael (Laura) Gibbons of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Jennie Bruno who raised him, and brothers, Daniel “Butchie” Gibbons and Jerry Gibbons. The family expresses love and appreciation to Hillside Rehabilitation Center in Salt Lake City and Hospice for Utah. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 22 at 1:00pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Calvary Cemetery, 718 Hazelwood Ave, Pittsburgh, PA.
