Edith Louise Elkins Christiansen

Our most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed from this life to freedom from the pains and trials of a lingering illness.  Louise was born July 20, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy and Edith Hatch Elkins.

She married her “Hill Field Mystery Man”, Winston E. (Chris) Christiansen in the Salt Lake Temple on September 25, 1942.  He is her eternal sweetheart and hero.

She worked really hard her whole life, leaving her family a tremendous legacy of dedicated service, love and devotion.  She was active in the LDS faith and loved her numerous callings in young women, name extractor and as a teacher. She is survived by her adoring husband of 67 years, and five children: Judy Hill (Sterling), Scott (Linda), Paul (Joan), Bruce (Donna) and Janet Ross (Cliff); 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a brother, Richard I. Elkins.  Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy M. Elkins, grandson, Todd Christiansen and a granddaughter, Emily Ross.
