August 7, 1923 ~ December 14, 2009

Alta C. Noble, 86, passed quietly Mon. evening, Dec. 14, 2009, with close family by her side.  She had struggled with poor health over the past year but maintained her independent and active lifestyle. She continued to devote her loving attention to family and friends and to care meticulously for her home and yard.  Alta woke early each day determined to be at her best, well-groomed and fashionably dressed.  She cherished visits from family, neighbors and friends and lived for the special outings she attended with her twin sister, Elda and nieces, Barbara and Shari.  She was deeply touched by the love, generosity and thoughtfulness of new friends who brightened her days and lifted her heart. 

Alta was born Aug. 7, 1923 at the home of her parents on Main Street in Pleasant Grove.  She is the fifth of five children born to Clifton Romaine and Rhoda Juliet Barnes Clark.  She is a daughter of Pioneer heritage, the great-great granddaughter of Elder Parley P. Pratt, and the great granddaughter of George S. Clark who was sent by Brigham Young to help settle what came to be Pleasant Grove.  She married V. Glen Noble in the Salt Lake Temple Nov. 1, 1939 and was widowed March 12, 2001.  She is survived by her three daughters, Sharolyn Iverson of Salt Lake City; Jackie Bunnell of Santa Rosa, CA and Shauna Brackenbury of Provo.  Alta is also survived by her sister, Elda C. Christensen Bowen.  Her posterity to date is twelve grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Mahogany Stake Center, 1548 North 900 West, Pleasant Grove.  A viewing will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.  Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com
