Lenore Delaine Brady Nielsen, 85, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Lenore was born May 14, 1924 in Duchesne, Utah to Loren Edward and Phydonia Stott Brady. She married Glenn Christian Nielsen on November 24, 1947 in Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Glenn passed away in 2000. Lenore spent her early years in the Uintah Basin and later moved to Pleasant Grove with her family where she graduated from Pleasant Grove High. Lenore and Glenn were the proud parents of six sons and extremely proud parents of their only daughter. Lenore was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings during her life. Lenore and Glenn were avid scouting supporters, raising six Eagle Scouts and motivating many other boys in the Timpanogos Third Ward to achieve this honor. Lenore enjoyed camping, fishing, and year-round outings with her family. She looked forward to spring when she could plant her flower gardens and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved to crochet and her family and many others are the proud recipients of her talent and kind heart. Lenore is survived by seven children: Kenneth (Sylvia) Nielsen, Hilo, HI; Jim (Jackie) Nielsen, Highland; Michael (Trudy) Nielsen, Pleasant Grove; Gary Nielsen, Herriman; Mark Nielsen, Pleasant Grove; Jay Dee (Robin) Nielsen, Orem; Kathy (Max) Sessions, Pleasant Grove; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers: Archie, Evan, and LaRoss Brady. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua; sister, Ellen Tregaskis and brother, Lester Brady. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Third Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call for a viewing Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
