Pamela Nielsen Hiatt, 52, of Pleasant Grove slipped away peacefully in her sleep at her home on February 12, 2010 after a valiant battle with depression and anxiety. Pam was born August 10, 1957 in American Fork, Utah to George Lyman and Norma Vivian Giles Nielsen. She married Russell Hiatt on May 17, 1975 in Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.
Pam grew up in Pleasant Grove “monkey town”, the oldest of the eight Nielsen children, and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1975. She enjoyed cross-stitching and crafts. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings during her life. Above all she was dedicated to her family, always worried and stressed for the success in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved each and every one unconditionally with unselfish love.
She is survived by her loving husband Russ of Pleasant Grove; three children: Nathan (Jodi) Hiatt, their children: Mercedes and Gabrielle; Paul (Sandii) Hiatt, their children: Mikael, Riley, Izabelle, Brendyn and Elyzabeth; Briana (Terrell) Olsen, their children: Kasie, Tiffany and Bailey; mother, Norma; grandmother, Vivian Giles; siblings: Brad Nielsen, Roger Nielsen, Andy Nielsen, Angie Phillips, Boyd Nielsen, Shanna Ormond, Ben Nielsen and many loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her infant grandson, Riley; father, Lyman and father and mother-in-law, Ray and Gerry Hiatt.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Battlecreek Third Ward Chapel, 1222 East Nathanial Drive, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may call for a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at church on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
