It looks like a grand and glorious journey ahead for Charles. He departed this life on February 25, 2010 leaving behind his wife of 60 plus years, Xenna Johnson Boyer and four wonderful sons and their lovely wives: Allan Charles and Elizabeth; Max Kevin and Deborah; LaMar Glenn and MarRae; Gary Ron and LeAnn; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and his sister, Irene Heyland.
Charles was born May 21, 1921 on the family farm in Thayer, Iowa to Charles W. and Hazel C. Boyer. He left the farm as a young man, moved to Utah, and joined the LDS Church. He married Xenna Johnson on January 1, 1950. Charles loved his family, traveling, and hard work. Although Charles left the farm, the farm never left him and always enjoyed having a big garden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Battlecreek Second Ward Chapel, 1250 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends and family at may call for a viewing Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
