Betty Ruth Bee Marlow

December 25, 1931 ~ March 3, 2010

Betty Ruth Marlow, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away March 03.  She was born December 25, 1931 to Frank and Ida Bee in Akron, Ohio.  In her teen years, Betty moved to Downey, California where she worked for the phone company and the police department.  While working in the City of Downey engineering department, she met Don Walton Marlow.  They married July 15, 1961 and were later sealed together for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   

 

 

Betty lived a life of service, enriching the lives of the many people she served and came into contact with.  She served in many capacities in the Downey, California First and Second Wards, including as Relief Society President in the First Ward.

 

 

In 1990, Betty and Don moved to Highland, Utah where she was able to enjoy the mountains she loved so much.   She and her husband enjoyed their time as temple workers in the Jordan River Temple and then later the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.  They also served for 7 years in the medical department at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT.

 

 

Betty spent many hours making beautiful quilts for friends and her grandchildren. She loved crafts and enjoyed painting the decorations Don made in his woodshop. A talented cook, she also loved to dance and was on a bowling league for many years.

 

 

She is survived by her husband Don, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Michael Sivetts, grandson Gabriel Sivetts; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Heather Marlow, granddaughter Avery Marlow and grandsons Reid and Spencer Marlow;  and son Russ Marlow.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Highland 24th Ward

Chapel, 5222 West Country Club Drive, Highland, Utah.  A viewing will be held prior to services on Saturday from 11:00-11:45 a.m.  Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.
