When I was 9 yrs old I was riding my bike past your house on Montgomery Dr in Sandy. Your mom came out and called me to come back and talk to her. She told me that there was going to be a Primary Chorus for General Conference, and she could pick one boy and one girl from our ward (old Sandy 10th) to practice and sing at the Saturday session. She picked me as the girl. I was so PROUD I could have popped. We sang I AM A CHILD OF GOD. THe original words in the last chorus that she so patiently taught us were "teach me all that I must know" later changed to "teach me all that I must do" That song is my very favorite song of all time. I taught it to my own kids, and then my grandkids. AND I never have or ever will sing it without remembering your dear mom and how special she made me feel. Roberta (Berta Fowles) |
