September 30, 1982 ~ March 24, 2010

Matthew Kip Kelly, 27, of Pleasant Grove passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010.  Matt was born September 30, 1982 in American Fork to Michael Sam and Janiece Kay Magnusson Kelly. 

Matt grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended schools there.  Matthew was well read and had a clever sense of humor, always making everyone laugh.  He loved football and enjoyed watching BYU and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He had an in-depth knowledge of the game.  Matt enjoyed a wide range of music from rock-n-roll to classical.   He was very proud of his Irish heritage and dreamed of making a trip to Ireland.  Matthew had friends from every walk of life whom he loved and they loved him. 

He is survived by his parents of Pleasant Grove; two sisters, Bethany (Ryan) Longenecker, Las Vegas and Melanie (Brad) Whaley, Raleigh, NC; nephew, Jaden; nieces: Alissa, Alexis, and Adelyn; grandmother, Aranka Kelly, Muskogee, OK. 

Matthew was preceded in death and reunited with his beloved brother Sam (passed away Oct. 27, 2006) and also by his grandparents, James and Marge Magnusson and Sam Kelly. 

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.  Friends and family may attend a viewing from 12:30-2:45 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com. 

Matthew we love you and we understand why.  Our hearts are broken and we are sorry.  Until We Meet Again!

Dear Shauna, As your Primary teacher a few years ago, I want you to know that you are in my prayers. Brother Macfarlane is in a rehabilitation center in Orem at present but I am sure he would want me to send his love and concern to you.
