July 9, 1924 ~ August 2, 2010

Norma “Nonie” Malone passed away August 2, 2010 in Sandy, Utah, after a courageous battle following a severe stroke and complications. 

She was born in St. Maries, Idaho in July 9, 1924 to Mabel and Oscar Blake.  Norma had two sisters, Nadine Cain and Jessica Weller, since deceased.

Norma was married to Jim Malone Jr. who passed away in 1995.  She is survived by her daughter, Roxana Easterwood, married to Chuck, living in South Jordan and a son, Jim Malone III, married to Mary, living in Ko’Olina, Hawaii and Pleasant Grove, Utah.

She was a Grandmother to Tracy Easterwood, Eric Easterwood, and Tyler Malone-Young (Sean) of Utah, Blake Malone and Brett Basarich of California, and Aunt to Nikki Edmunds of Washington.

Norma had lived in the State of Washington and California prior to moving to Orem, Utah in 1993. Norma and Jim enjoyed many years touring the country in their motor homes with various clubs, and she especially loved driving her “little red corvette” around their home in Palm Springs, California.  In later years she would continue the tradition, traveling with her family to many of her favorite spots. But none better than the weekends spent camping at the Provo River, or with family enjoying backyard barbeques. In her final years she was able to travel to Hawaii where she fell in love with the blue skies, warm sandy beaches and azure sea. So when the sky turns to that special “sapphire blue” we will know that Nonie and Papa are smiling and watching over us.

The family would like to extend special thanks and love to the staff at The Wentworth, Sandy Regional Health Care and Love’s Hospice for their wonderful care and assistance to our family.

Norma was a fun loving person and everyone liked her.  She will be missed by all. 

Norma will be cremated and her ashes, along with her husband's will be scattered per her request.  A celebration of her life is being planned for later in the year.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com
