Calvin G Harris

May 19, 1949 ~ June 14, 2019 (age 70)

Calvin G. Harris,husband, father, grandpa, sibling and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2019 while enjoying the beauty of the Black Hills, South Dakota with his family.

Calvin was born on May 19, 1949 in American Fork, Utah, and was the third son of Myles and Thelda Harris. He was married and sealed to his eternal sweetheart, Pat on August 9, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After 47 years of working for the same company, he retired in 2016.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Hobbies included hunting, camping, fishing and eating ice cream. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending dance and drill recitals, baseball games, Homecoming pageants, FFA activities and whatever else they were involved in, as well as teaching them to hunt, fish and camp. He also had a love for Yellowstone National Park and the Bar J Wrangler Chuckwagon dinner program and would have visited each year if he could.

He is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Lori (Dan) Reay, Pleasant Grove, Utah; Tyler (Linde) Harris, St. George, Utah; Travis (Jenny) Harris, Eagle Mountain, Utah and eight grandchildren; Taylor (Melissa) Reay, Courtney Reay, Braden Reay, Sister Brooklyn Harris (currently serving in the CA Long Beach Mission), T.J. Harris, Macee Harris, Saige Harris and Hayden Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Myles and Thelda Harris), father-in-law (Boyd Dittmore), and sister-in-law (Cheryl Dittmore).

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lindon 5th Ward Chapel, 610 West 100 South, Lindon, Utah. Family and friends may attend viewings Sunday Evening, June 23, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah and Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
