Colleen Gardiner, 89, of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Colleen was born September 6, 1929 in Nephi, Utah and is one of three children born to Phillip Ray Ewell and Louise Rieske. Her two brothers are Merrill Ewell and Gary Ewell.
She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints March 20, 1938.
Colleen moved with her family to Pleasant Grove when she was 10 years old and attended Central School and Pleasant Grove High School.
She married her next-door neighbor Billie Tolman Gardiner on July 15, 1946 and was sealed for time and all eternity November 12, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised six children and have 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Colleen spent her life in the service of others including family, church callings, various organizations and being a loving considerate friend and neighbor.
Her church service included serving in both the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples for around 25 years and serving a full-time proselyting mission in the Tampa Florida Mission in 1993 with her loving husband Bill. She also served as a Relief Society President and as a compassionate service sister. She also served as a captain in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and as a PTA president.
Colleen is now resting with her loving husband Bill who has been deceased for about 12 years and two of her sons Jim and Mark who recently passed away last month.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orchard Ward Chapel, 828 Locust Ave, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
