Dorothy Ellen Hargett Mackneer, 81, of Orem passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born November 24, 1936 in Trenton, North Carolina to Abner Jefferson and Mattie Thomas Hargett. She married Paul Warner and together had eight children. They were divorced. She married Dan Peterson and together had a son. They were later divorced. She married Richard Mackneer.
Dottie grew up in North Carolina on the family farm. She graduated from Jones Central High School in Trenton, North Carolina where she played basketball, softball, and volunteered at the hospital in New Bern. After graduation, Dottie moved to Utah and attend BYU. While in Utah, Dottie loved to ski, hike, boat and spend time in the outdoors.
Dottie had a love for children. She cared for her own children as well as many foster children including: Juidiith, Mary, Lillian, and Peter to name a few.
Dottie served faithfully in many callings in the LDS Church during her life. She loved being surrounded by family and always looked forward to supporting each child and grandchild in all of their endeavors.
She is survived by children: Dave Warner, Jeff (Sherie) Warner, Kaye Lynne (Arlun) Ault, Vickie Robinson, Joel (Angie) Warner, Steve (Corinne) Warner, Anne (Brad) Kitchen, Joy (Darrin) Henry, Chuck (Jessica) Warner and Juidiith (Dave) Clawson; 51 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren; sister, Mattie Faye Wiley and brothers, Harold Jefferson (Pat) Hargett and Larry Earl (Betty) Hargett. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Mack” Mackneer; parents, Jeff and Mattie Hargett; sister, Mary Louise Hamilton and grandson Christopher Joel Warner.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
