Merriel Faye Trunkey Conder, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 94, passed away on February 20, 2018. Born to James (Jim) and Vera Trunkey on November 23, 1923 in Twisp, Oregon. Faye attended Lincoln High School in Orem where she met and later married Phil Conder on January 15, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple and enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Phil passed away on February 6, 2004.
Faye was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a talented seamstress and homemaker, devoting her life to her family. After the end of World War II (Phil was in the Navy), the couple settled in Provo. In 1962, they moved their family to Kemmerer, Wyoming where Phil was employed by Utah Power & Light. In 1976, they returned to Utah and built a home next to Faye’s parents’ home in Orem. After Phil’s retirement, he and Faye spent many winters as snowbirds in St. George where they enjoyed many adventures and the company of many friends. Faye relocated to Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork in 2014.
Faye is survived by her children: Christy (Don) Guear, Star Valley, WY, Claudia Conder, Centerville, Colleen (Max) Murdoch, Highland and Corey (Becky) Conder, Lehi and daughter-in-law, Janice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil (2004) her oldest son, Craig Conder, her twin sister Fern (Leo) Vernon, sister Helen Billings Ritche, and brother Dale (Edith) Trunkey. She left a legacy of 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Windsor Fourth Ward Chapel, 1875 North 280 West, Orem, Utah where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com
