Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Gary Wallace Larson (1946-2019) passed away peacefully on October 28, 2019 following a battle with cancer.
Gary was born June 12, 1946 to LeGrand Wallace Larson and Mary Elma Robinson Larson and was the oldest of four children. Gary attended American Fork High School where he lettered in football. After high school he went on to enlist in the National Guard. After his service he worked at Bailey's. In 1967 he was hired on at Geneva Steel where he worked until his retirement in 2002. Gary then worked for Ken Garff Ford in the parts and service department delivering parts across the valley. He retired from there in 2012. Gary enjoyed retirement spending time with friends and family at their family property in Fairview.
He married the love of his life LaRae Penrod Larson, daughter of Grant and Fern Penrod, on June 20, 1971. They went on to have 6 children: Michelle Dallin, Casey LeGrand Larson, Gary Travis Larson, Annette Ray, Channing Resler, and Zachary Wallace Larson, as well as 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father, LeGrand and Elma Larson, mother-in-law Charlotte Fern Penrod, and his two little boys Zachary and Travis Larson. He is survived by his wife LaRae Penrod Larson, brother Ronald “Tank” (Yvonne) Larson, sister Kaelynn (Clint) Gull, sister Deone Holdaway, daughter Michelle (Chris) Dallin, son Casey (Stacey) Larson, daughter Annette (John) Ray, daughter Channing Resler, and father-in-law Grant B. Penrod.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Seventh Ward Chapel, 315 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah and at the church on Thursday from 9:00- 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
