Gordon Woodruff Moses

June 22, 1922 ~ March 10, 2018 (age 95)

Gordon Woodruff Moses passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, March 10th, 2018. Gordon was born June 24th, 1922 in Farmington, Utah.  As a youth he learned the value of hard work and dedication as he helped on the family farm.  These values benefited him throughout his life and he passed them on to his children and grandchildren.

He graduated from Bear River High School and attended Utah State University, BYU, and University of Southern California.  He worked as an Aerospace Engineer and taught Electrical Engineering at BYU and Utah Valley State College.  He enjoyed working on projects in his spare time.  He loved to use his knowledge and talents to bless the lives of others and gave of his time willingly. Gordon served his country in the Navy during World War II and the Korean war. As a member of the LDS Church he served a mission in Paris, France and faithfully served in many church callings. While living in Lauguna Woods, CA he enjoyed being involved in many of the clubs in the community and was known as a very good ballroom dancer.

He met Marry Ellen Norsworthy and they were married October 3, 1951.  He later married Christiane Danville Kohler in 1983.  Christiane preceded him in death on February 28, 2005.  He also enjoyed many years of friendship with Ginger Prestwich.

Gordon is survived by Mary Ellen Norsworthy Moses, his children Laura (Bill Chipman), Gordon (Kathy), Donald (Susan), Darin (Deanne), and John (AnneMarie), step daughter Chantal, 27 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, his siblings Sherill and Devon, and his dear friend Ginger Prestwitch.  He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer Woodruff Moses and Alice Maude Petty Moses, his siblings Eugnia Hart, La Nez Cropper, Waneen Nield and Darrell Moses.

Gordon impacted the lives of so many.  He was a devoted and loving brother, son, husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 17th at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East,  Pleasant Grove, Utah with a viewing from 9:00 -  10:45 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery, Orem, Utah.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
