Joan Lynda Scott Roberts of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was born to Viola Gwendolyn Sorensen Scott and Rulon Stephen Scott II on December 20, 1942 in Los Angeles, California.
She married the love of her life, James Ralph Roberts on January 6, 1961. They were blessed with two daughters, Kellie and Diana. Joan was a loving wife and mother. Her family knew that they were her greatest blessing.
Joan was blessed to have a twin sister, Carol Giffin (Dale). They were inseparable from the start. Their bond was so unique. They had their own language and could switch places in school as children. Her daughters remember one time when Joan was upset, she was saying that something was wrong with Carol and then she received a call that something really was wrong. It always astonished them that they were so connected. Joan and Carol would do anything for each other.
Joan was sick most of her life. Her asthma and other health issues limited her severely. She wasn’t able to do as much as she would have liked. Even though she couldn’t do big things, she did many small things for those around her.
She is survived by her husband, James Roberts, daughters, Kellie Nielson (Brad) and Diana Torgeson (Gerald), and grandchildren Jeff Nielson, Scott Torgeson, Alyssa Clay (Brandon), Andrew Torgeson (Laura), Chris Nielson, Ryan Torgeson, Amanda Nielson, and Emily Nielson, and her twin sister Carol Giffin (Dale).
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Steve Scott (Judy), and her sister, Donna Lawyer (Mike).
