June L Smith

June 17, 2019 ~ June 4, 2019

June Smith, 70, of Provo, Utah passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 due to complications from a hard-fought battle with Asthma and COPD. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law Matt & Bridget Lloyd, Brian & Jacqueline Lloyd and her daughter Andrea Lloyd as well as 11 grandchildren that love and miss her.

She was born to Charley and LaRue Smith on June 4, 1948 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born 2 months premature and weighed a mere 3 lbs 1 oz and was not expected to live. She had to be placed in an incubator for the first 6 weeks of her life and despite the odds against her, survived. She grew up in Provo, Utah and attended Grandview Elementary school. June cultivated a love of the gospel early in life and had great memories of growing up.

She went on to attended Dixon Jr High school and then Provo High school where she graduated. She worked very hard all of her life and enjoyed a successful career in the credit union lending industry where she retired a Vice President of lending.

June loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She always had time to share with loved ones and strived to make sure they knew she loved and appreciated them in her life. June had a long history of service to others and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many leadership callings throughout her life. Her focus was her family and she had a strong desire for her children and grandchildren to know of her testimony of the Atonement and the plan of salvation.

Although she will miss all of her loved ones, she wanted everyone to know she has moved on to a better place. She especially wanted all family and friends to know how much she appreciated their love, kindness and service to her, especially towards the end of her journey.

Memorial services will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center Chapel, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah. A private family viewing will be held prior to services.  Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver, Utah under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
