Lauren Lloyd Pettis, 81, passed away at his home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Friday, November 15, 2019 after battling Parkinson’s disease. Lauren was born to the late Lloyd and Vera Pettis in Stockton, CA.
He graduated from Stockton College and Utah State Univ., where he excelled as an athlete in football and track. Upon graduation he returned to Stockton and began a lifelong career in education. He retired from Stagg H.S. after 38 years, and is remembered as a beloved teacher, football and track coach, school administrator, and mentor. He is a member of the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame.
He is survived by Patricia, his loving wife of 60 years; sons Scott (Jackie), Greg (Lisa), and Steve, and his “adopted” son Donald (Francine) Gatz; his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother Jimmy (Natalie), and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grove Eighth Ward Chapel,1136 West 700 South, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
