- After Care
Michael Dominic Madsen slipped into eternity on December 17, 2018 after a tragic auto/pedestrian incident that ended his mortal life. He was loved and cherished by so many friends and family. We all feel the tremendous loss of his passing and grieve from the hole that is now felt from his absence.
Michael, born July 11, 2007, was the son of Russ and Mandy Madsen and brother to Taylor, Olivia, Cassie, Evey, and a soon to be born baby brother. Michael was always a sweet, smart, kind and funny boy with many interests and abilities.
He has always been a huge fan of legos and developed the skill to build almost anything he could imagine. From an early age he started to draw, and his artistry turned into truly impressive drawings, full of creativity and variation. He started writing and illustrating a book series with all the plot & twists figured out in his mind. Michael loved to help Mom in the kitchen, taking on the job of cooking the perfect bacon on Sunday mornings, and was always happy to make the family treat. As parents we have been amazed at his talents at such a young age.
He was a wonderful son and brother to his 4 sisters. Michael was a best friend and confidant to his older sister Taylor who also shares his love of artistry. They would draw and write comics together, share stories, interests, and jokes. He was a loving and playful brother to his 3 younger sisters. Michael frequently expressed how excited he was to finally have a brother, to help care for the baby, and teach him everything he knew.
Michael was a righteous son of God, and someone who took his commitment as a disciple of Jesus Christ seriously. He loved to do what was right and set a good example for all of us. He finished reading the Book of Mormon by the time he was 8 years old. He would leave our home early before church so he could walk with a friend each Sunday. He had an amazing testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and could answer questions about the gospel to those who asked. Many were touched by his strength and knowledge.
While our hearts are broken, we take consolation in knowing that he has been received by loved ones who have gone before and that the bonds of love that we have shared in this life are eternal.
