Myron Clair Rasmussen, passed away on July 19, 2017 at the age of 81.
Clair was born May 10, 1936 in Salina, Utah to Cloyd O’Neil Rasmussen and Leda Dalton Rasmussen. He lived the first years of his life in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. His father, Cloyd, passed away when Clair was 6 months old. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Salt Lake City, Utah. Later the family moved to Orem, Utah where he attended Lincoln High School. This is where he met and married his high school sweetheart Carol Josie. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on September 9, 1955. They lived in many places throughout their lives: Torrance, California, Orem, Price, Provo, Kanab, Vernal, Riverton, St George, Manila, and Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Clair has worked for many companies including: Geneva Steel, General Motors, Shell Chemical, Utah Highway Patrol and the State of Utah/DEA. He retired from both the Utah Highway Patrol and later from the State of Utah/DEA.
Clair and Carol served a LDS mission in Hartford, Connecticut and served as facilitators for the LDS Church’s Addiction Recovery Program. He worked hard and especially played hard. They spent many of their retirement years together enjoying the Flaming Gorge area. He provided a place and opportunity for his family to continue the memories he initiated.
He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Carol, Sons Rick (Cindy) Rasmussen and Kenny (Lisa) Rasmussen, Daughter Jodie (Chris) Olsen, 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on July 25, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the LDS Chapel located on 500 North 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
