Norma Jean BrownMarch 31, 1932 ~ January 3, 2018 (age 85)
Norma Jean Ostler Brown, 85, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Aunt, and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2018.
She was born March 31, 1932 in Spring Canyon, Utah. and was raised in Spring Canyon and Orem Utah, and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1950. She married Eben Ray Brown Jr in the Salt Lake Temple on Febuary 14, 1951. Norma and Ray were the parents of eight children. She was a devoted mother and wife; who always kept a clean and tidy home and was a great cook.
Norma was active in the LDS Church and served in many Ward and Stake Callings. Her two favorite callings were serving as Ward Librarian, and working as an Ordinance Worker in the Temple. She served a full time Mission with her husband Ray at the Lindon LDS Bishops’ Storehouse.
Norma believed in service to the community. She served as a Voter Registration Agent and as an Election Judge for many years. She served as the North Union Irrigation Company Secretary for over 43 years. It was her job to help schedule the water turns each year and much headache and frustration on the Water User’s part was prevented by her hard work & diligence.
Her home was always a special place for her grandchildren to visit. She was always willing to play games, pop popcorn and watch movies. A special treat was being able to sleep over at her home. She would tuck everyone in with a hug and a kiss and in the morning she would make them a special breakfast.
She is survived by seven children: Richard (Pam) Brown of Irvine, CA; Lou Ann (Dee) Tomlinson of Lindon, UT; Annette (Cary) Stout of Fort Worth, TX; Steven (Eileen) Brown of American Fork, UT; Mark Brown of Lindon, UT; Sherrie (Jerry) Houston of Lindon, UT; Robert Brown of San Tan Valley, AZ; 26 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray and her daughter Debra.
