Raquel Condie

September 14, 1930 ~ January 1, 2019 (age 88)

Vyva Raquel Condie (Adamson) our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at home, on January 1, 2019. Raquel was born in Provo, Utah on September 14, 1930 to Paul and Winnifred Adamson. She had one brother, Ken and they grew up in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This is where many magical memories were made for not only she and her brother, but for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was beautiful, smart, talented and loved life and family. She attended Pleasant Grove High School where she excelled, played flute, was a cheerleader and graduated with honors.

Raquel went on from High School to attend Brigham Young University and then transferred to Utah State University where she met her husband, Gordon Orlando Condie (and became a true “Aggie”).

Together they had three children Debbie Ashby (Mitch), Becky Richardson-deceased (Jim), Craig Condie (Katrinka). She was blessed with ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

After finishing school at USU their lives took them many places: San Mateo, California; Seattle, Washington and then back to Utah, which was always “home.”

Raquel’s highlight of her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her mother Winnie used to play a beautiful song on the piano called “My Mother’s Pearls” were her boys and girls and Raquel’s family was definitely her “pearls”. She loved fashion, flowers, family trips, getting her hair done, lipstick and it was always “about the dress”. She loved going camping, waterskiing, fishing, wave running and helped us all realize that life mixed with a little laughter was good medicine.

Raquel touched many lives with her big heart and beautiful smile. She will be dearly missed.
