Robert Fenton, age 81, died January 24,2018. A man who was loved and respected. He was fair and kind to all, even at tax season. He will be greatly missed.
In 1953, Robert joined the United States Marine Corps where he was a First Lieutenant and pilot of the FJ-3. He then became a member of the "Mach Busters Club" (Who were the first to break the speed of sound).
After Robert's time in the military he returned to Pleasant Grove and worked at Hercules Powder Company as a technician testing propellent strands. The propellent eventually helped send a man to the moon. After his time at Hercules, he returned to BYU where he graduated with his degree in accounting. He was then employed at the State Tax Commision for 30 years.
He married the love of his life, Geraldine Mitchell, on March 16, 1963. They met on a bus traveling to Elko, Nevada and married six months later in Las Vegas. They were married for 54 years.
During their marriage they had three children, Richard, Julie, and Pam. They have four grandchildren, Randy, Mike, Megan, and Austin. He loved his family very much.
At his request, he will be cremated and have no public services.
