Sara Gene Allred Jense, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 31, 2018.
Sara was born in Monticello Utah on October 21, 1934 to Eugene Wayne and Bethel Watts Allred, surrounded by loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Two years later, she welcomed her sister Kathleen. Sara spent a happy childhood in Monticello, Moab, and Pleasant Grove where she graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1952.
Sara married her high school sweetheart Gary Webb Jense on January 10, 1953 and together they had four beautiful children: Wesley Eugene, Lana Gene, Holly Gene and Jonathan Allred Jense.
In 1979, Sara began law school at the University of Utah, the same year her daughter Holly started medical school. While there, she spent a year abroad at Oxford, during which she celebrated the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. She brought home many mementos of the occasion and enjoyed reminiscing about the event for the rest of her life. After graduating in 1982, she immediately began her career at the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Salt Lake City.
Throughout her life, Sara was proud of her ancestry and her pioneer heritage and remained a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She spent the last years of her life in a restored ancestral home in Spring City, Utah.
She is survived by her daughter Lana (Bruce) Bowles, son Jonathan (Becky) Jense, sister Kathleen (Paul) Jones, 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, daughter Holly, son Wesley, and 2 great granddaughters.
