Tom TaylorJune 9, 1920 ~ August 5, 2017 (age 97)
H. Thomas Taylor, passed peacefully on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at age 97 in the home of his daughter Camille Klippert. He was a man who was easy to love. Friendly, giving, and wise, he was especially adored by his great grandchildren. He spent a life of service to his family, church, community, and country.
He was born June 9, 1920, in Fort Duchesne, Utah and raised on the family ranch in Randlet, Utah. He served in the Army Air Corp in World War II, the only member of his flight crew to survive the war. He graduated from Utah State University, and spent his career as an educator and administrator, mostly in Lyman, Wyoming. After retirement he and his wife Jan moved to Monroe, Utah to care for Jan’s aging father. He and his wife Jan have been living in Pleasant Grove, Utah close to family the past fifteen years.
Tom is survived by his wife Jan, four children, Roy Taylor, Larry Taylor, Camille Klippert, and Bill Taylor. He also has 21 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 3 2nd great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mt Mahogany Seventh Ward Chapel, 1541 North 1300 West, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9 - 9:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
