Ann Kathleen Geiger Goodman passed away December 21, 2021 in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
She was born August 6, 1935 in Oak Park, Illinois, the first of two daughters born to Charles Joseph Geiger and Delta Identa Marshall. Ann spent the first three years of her life in the Chicago area, after which her family moved to the Los Angeles area in 1938. Ann spent her early childhood in Glendale, California, where her younger sister, Patricia Jo Geiger was born. Ann and her family moved to Burbank and then to Frazier Park, California where Ann graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1953. The family then moved to Palmdale, California.
Ann married Frank Wesley Mckenzie January 9, 1955 in Palmdale, and they had two children. Ann joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in October of 1956. She was widowed in 1957, when her husband was killed in an industrial accident.
She met Reuben John Goodman in Palmdale, California. She married him in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on August 1, 1958. Ann and John added four more children to their family in California, before moving to Lindon, Utah in 1970. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona for one year in 1973, and then settled back in Pleasant Grove, Utah in 1974.
Ann worked as a library aide at American Fork Jr. High for 14 years, beginning in 1975, and at Pleasant Grove Jr. High, where she retired in 1997, after 8 years.
Ann and John served several missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the Russia Rostov Mission, from 1999 to 2001, the Virginia, Richmond Mission from 2002 to 2003, and at Westridge Academy in 2004. Ann and John also served in a branch presidency at the Provo MTC from 2006 to 2010.
She was adventuresome, fun loving and faithful to her religious convictions throughout her entire life. She and her husband, John enjoyed a true partnership through all of their activities and adventures together. Ann’s husband, posterity and extended family were the sole focus of her life and her labors. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Reuben John Goodman, and her six children, Scott (Cheryl) Goodman, Lynn (Joel) Wright, Dale (Teresa) Goodman, Charles (Leilani) Goodman, John Goodman, and Karen (Ivan) Ayers. Ann leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, located at 494 South 300 East in Pleasant Grove. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 828 South Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
