We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Funeral Home
Bonnie Jo Hampton Winters passed away peacefully at Utah Valley Hospital on July 27, 2022. Bonnie was born on February 13, 1943 in Maybell Colorado to Theodore Phillip and Emma Myrtle Hampton. She was the youngest of nine children. At the age of 3, Bonnie and her family moved to Utah and resided for a short time in American Fork before moving to Pleasant Grove. Bonnie spent her youth helping her dad on the family farm, where she learned the value of hard work. Bonnie graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She met her sweetheart, Harold Cregg Winters, while ballroom dancing. They were married February 14, 1963, and later sealed in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Together they were blessed with 3 children; Russell Winters, Stacey Hone, and Jeff (Christi) Winters. As well as 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Bonnie worked as a caregiver at the Utah State Developmental Center for many, many years and enjoyed working with the residents. After that, she worked several retail jobs where she loved interacting with customers. Bonnie was a natural care giver, where she would often work two jobs to support her family while her husband was sick.
Bonnie loved to crochet and made several blankets for her grandkids. She loved to be outside and work in the flower beds and in the garden. She found a true love for the outdoors when she would go fishing with her dad in her younger days. She spent many hours with her husband and son restoring old cars.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven siblings; Phyilis, Dwayne, Darlene, Jean, Joy, Verl, Myrtle (Fay), and Edward, and grandson, Tony Hone. She is survived by one brother, Larry Hampton, and her children and grandchildren. Bonnie has been waiting 15 years to be reunited with her eternal sweetheart Cregg, and we know that it was a beautiful reunion.
