Frankie Lou Webb Parker Barney, 89, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 surrounded by love in Lindon, Utah at the “Big House Spring Garden Assisted Living Center” as she lovingly referred to it, where she lived for 22 months. She was born July 9, 1931 in Panguitch, Utah to Arlo Eyre and Ida Francis Hatch Webb.
Frankie was the eighth child of ten children. Her father died when she was seven years old. She was raised by her wonderful single mother who worked hard at 2 -3 jobs at a time to provide for the seven children left at home. She went to work at the age of 13 as most children did in the depression era. They later moved from Panguitch to Orem, Utah for better work opportunities.
Frankie graduated from Lincoln high school in 1948.
She met Fred Parker on a blind date and they were later married on July 16, 1949. They had four children together. In 1973 Fred died of a massive heart attack. They were married for 24 years.
Frankie worked at the Utah State Development Center for 32 years from 1961 – 1993. She dearly loved her clients. She was a physical therapy aide. She was nominated for employee of the year in 1989 which was a great honor to be chosen from so many.
In late 1977 Frankie and Garth became reacquainted from their high school years and in March of 1978 they were married. Our wonderful father Garth, became our Dad. Garth had four children and two step children. Frankie loved his children very much. They were married for 26 years. Garth passed away May 18, 2004. He was a wonderful man.
Frankie was kind, caring and compassionate to all those that she met. She was remarkable to all of her older friends who were in the assisted living center. She would go each week, sing, mend clothes and pay Madges bills. Frankie had a gentle loving heart. She will be missed by many. She was a faithful latter-day saint and had various callings in the church. She was a faithful daughter of God.
Frankie is survived by two of her children: Dennis (Wendy) Parker, Marsha (Jack) Parker Elwell, 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by both her parents, two husbands, nine siblings, one son, one daughter, two grandsons and two great granddaughters.
