Karen Barker Osborne, 72, of Saratoga Springs passed away Monday, November 4, 2019. Karen was born November 14, 1946 in Bridgeland, Utah to Calvin and Thelma Mathews Barker.
Karen grew up in Bridgeland and attended schools in Roosevelt, graduating from Union High School. Karen lived her adult life in Alpine where she raised her four children. She owned and operated the Marchelet Drive Inn in Alpine in her early life. Karen later worked in banking and at Signetics.
She furthered her education at UVU and received her Associate Degree. She worked at Work Med in Orem and later at Tri City Medical Clinic in Pleasant Grove. Karen especially enjoyed taking care of elderly people during her time working at the medical clinics. Karen enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, gardening and making porcelain dolls. She had soft spot for animals and always had a dog. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than family dinners.
She is survived by her four children: Tim (Terri) Osborne, Pleasant Grove; Bobby (Heather) Osborne, Pleasant Grove; Terry Osborne, Lehi and Kris Mecham, Orem; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; siblings: Charles (Rita) Barker, Ruth Ann (Bobby) Sathers and Prentiss Barker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Joyce Peterson, Ben Barker and Mary Syndergaard.
Funeral services for Karen will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 12:00 pm (noon) in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a visitation from 11:00-11:45 prior to services. Interment will in the Roosevelt Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
