Obituary

Kathryn King Adams, 92, of Pleasant Grove, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her home. Kathryn was born to Nellie May Boulton and LeRoy Horace King in Bingham Canyon on November 7, 1928.

Kathryn grew up in Bingham Canyon until the age of three when the family moved to Los Angeles, California. After a brief time there, her mother became ill and passed away. The family moved to Provo, Utah and shortly after they returned, Kathryn went to live with her maternal Grandmother, Cora Remington Boulton Skinner in Bingham Canyon and then later in Copperton. She graduated from Bingham High School.

She met Rulon B Adams on a blind date and were later married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 28, 1948 after he returned from his service in the Navy during World War II.

They had six children: Sandra Kay, David Rulon, William Dan, Cynthia, Frank, and Richard Doyle.

Kathryn got her children through school and went to work as a "Lunch Lady". She then took a position as a teacher's aide at the Peterson School and loved working with the children. When her husband retired, they took a job working as campground hosts in various locations in the state and loved the work and meeting people.

Rulon and Kathryn served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Family History Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kathryn also served as Primary President and teacher, MIA President, a valiant Visiting Teacher, Cub Scouts Den Mother, and Family History Consultant.  She especially enjoyed doing genealogy.  She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She also loved camping, hunting, rock hounding, painting, and crafts. She belonged to a Ladies Book Club and established life- long friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rulon; daughter, Sandra; sons: Richard and Frank Adams; grandson Clint Adams; brothers: Horace and George King; and sisters: Lorraine Dean, Jean Harris, and Joan Dalton.

She is survived by her sons: David (Yvonne) Adams, William Dan (Carolyn) Adams; daughter, Cynthia (aka Cindi) Adams, and daughter-in-law Cynthia (aka Cindy) Knotts. 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
