Lance TeNgaio of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, June 12, 2021 at the age of 58.
Lance was born in Provo, Utah, on October 8, 1962, to Michael TeNgaio and Napua Baker. He moved to Laie, HI, at the age of 7 after his mom finished her undergraduate degree at BYU Provo. He was a proud graduate of Kahuku High School Class of 1981. He served a faithful mission in the Tokyo North Mission from 1982 - 1984. He met Allyce while working as a tour guide at the Polynesian Cultural Center and they were married for time and all eternity in the Laie Hawaii Temple on February 14, 1986. They moved to Orem, Utah, and began their family.
He graduated from Brigham Young University Provo with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for various companies as a computer programmer and software engineer including Novell, Symantec, InsideSales.com, but loved his current job at Doterra as a Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer.
Lance was a devoted husband, father, and son, and especially adored his six grandchildren. All who knew him recall his kind and humble nature, patient disposition, and inquisitive mind & intelligence. He loved unconditionally and genuinely cared for others. He served faithfully as an Elders Quorum President and Home teacher, and had a special fondness of serving in the Primary as a Den Leader and Primary Teacher. He was a man of God with a fervent testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and lived his life with Christlike love. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Allyce Kekauluohi Auna TeNgaio; his 5 children Michael Gage Kaleo TeNgaio, Austin Iakopo Ma’anaima TeNgaio, Juan ‘Jesse’ Jesus TeNgaio, Maria Guadalupe TeNgaio Ahokava, and Martha Alicia TeNgaio; his 5 grandchildren Isabella Napua & Noah Lyons Mikaere TeNgaio (Michael), Eliana Allyce & Luca Leone TeNgaio (Austin), Polosalina Senitila Ahokava (Maria), Andres Jesus Dean Thompson (Jesse); his mother, Verna Napua Baker; and sisters Shonna Magalei and Tamara Reid. He was preceded in death by his father Michael TeKerehi TeNgaio, Baby Justin Leone TeNgaio, and Baby Shonna Namahana Ahokava.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints North Field Stake Center, 105 West 1800 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Friends and family may attend a public viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
