Linda Darlene Withers (Stewart), 78, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2022 due to heart complications.  Linda was born on June 7, 1944, the youngest child of Roy and Amy Stewart in Burns, Oregon.  As she grew up, she was completely doted on by her older siblings and had cousins who were like brothers and sisters to her.  Linda was compassionate throughout her life.  Her brother Everett noted that, “kindness led her life.”

She was adventurous and, at age 17, followed her heart in marrying Buckley Withers on July 1, 1961 in Lovelock, Nevada.  They lived in Nevada, Oregon, and British Columbia, Arizona, and Utah.  Along the way, they had four children, Tom, Mike, Jeff, and Becky who they loved, sacrificed for, and cherished above anything else.

Linda’s life journey included living in Hazelton, BC – part of the time in a log house with no running water or electricity and in Douglas, Arizona for a year before moving to Utah.  They remained in Utah, continuing to raise their family in St. George and, in later years, relocated to Pleasant Grove to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Linda was an accomplished pianist and painter.  She was an amazing cook and was willing to share any of her recipes.  She was a deeply devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and a proud Grandma to eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She loved travelling – especially to visit loved ones and the Oregon coast.  Though her health declined over the last year and a half of her life, her mind remained sharp.  Whether she was on the phone with someone or visiting family, she was always compassionate towards others and was an example of living a Christ centered life.  She was gracious, brave and beautiful – inside and out.  She will be deeply missed until we meet again.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Daryel and Lyle, sisters Evadine Stewart Tucker and Betty Stewart Hanson as well as her son Michael Scott Withers.  She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Buckley Withers, and children Thomas (Tammy) Withers, Jeffrey (Andrea) Withers, and Rebecca Withers.  She was also survived by her brother, Everett Stewart who adored her and her sister-in-law, Pat Stewart and numerous cousins and extended family.

Her eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, include Michael Chase (Heather) Withers, Jessica Withers, Christopher Withers, Jacob Withers, Joseph Withers, Alexis Webb, Lilian Webb, Thomas Withers, Collin Withers, and Lilly Withers.
