We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Funeral Home
LuAnn Adams Ackerman, 64, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully Monday, June 13, 2022. LuAnn was born on July 22, 1957, the youngest child of Thomas Ardie and Bea Walker Adams of Pleasant Grove, Utah. LuAnn was the youngest of 5 children, and the little girl her mother had always hoped for. LuAnn was raised on the Adams Apples farm and helped sort, grade and package fruit often. She played in the orchard and rode her horse, Brownie, all over the foothills. She made many friends and would tell stories of enduring childhood with all older brothers.
LuAnn attended school in Pleasant Grove, and told stories of walking home daily to the very top of 200 South where her family lived. She participated in several different clubs in high school and had fond memories of dances, sledding and dating.
LuAnn met Kent after graduating high school at the movie theater and fell in love quickly. They were married on July 1, 1976, the same month LuAnn turned 19 years old. A year later they welcomed their first daughter Amy, and within 6 years welcomed 3 more children.
LuAnn worked as a young mother at Costco, WordPerfect and then Knight West Construction. She helped design and manage the building of their current home on Battle Creek Drive, built on land in her father's orchard. She lived on the same hill her entire life and loved it! She appreciated the beauty of the orchards and towering mountains and never wanted to move away.
LuAnn loved life and loved attending her grandchildren’s events, decorating for holidays, crafting, organizing family parties and games, attending events, trying new things (including skydiving & food), and traveling. Her travels took her wide and far and she loved expanding her horizons as she experienced the world. She had an eye for style and it showed in her home and the way she dressed. She was a great conversationalist and made friends quickly throughout life. LuAnn has an empathetic heart and an ability to connect quickly with people. She was known for asking all the questions and genuinely wanted to hear all of the answers. She truly loved Jesus Christ and the gospel and her ability to love without judgment was a pure reflection of that.
LuAnn is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy Adams. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kent Ackerman, and children Amy (Eric) Fugal, Jon (Khali) Ackerman, Holly (Dave W.) Faux, and Megan (Brian) Chin. She is also survived by her brothers, Cameron Adams, Paul Adams and Edward Adams.
Her eleven grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, include McKlay and Taylee Ackerman, Hazel, Tommy and Jax Fugal, Ruby, Piper and Ace Faux, and Kailan, Ellie and Easton Chin.
