Our beloved mother, wife, sister and friend, Marianne Rawlings Orr, 51, of American Fork, Utah, peacefully passed away on January 21st at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Marianne was born on June 1, 1969 to Stanley and Pauline (Chatterton) Rawlings in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marianne is survived by her husband Jeffrey, children: Lexie (Riley) Smith, TJ (Hannah), Shelbie (Kayden) Lloyd, Grandson Beau Smith and In-laws Keith and Marlene Orr. Father, Stanley L Rawlings. Also siblings: Jay (Mindy), Brent (Sherilyn), Diane (Kent) Clayton and Greg (Amber). She is preceded in death by her mother.
Marianne graduated from American Fork High School in 1987 then went on to earn her associate degree at UVCC. This is where she met the love of her life and best friend, Jeff. Shortly after they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple on February 2, 1991. They raised their 3 children in American Fork.
Marianne was a committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in a variety of callings. She loved being a mother and was a homemaker when her children were young then went on to be an invaluable employee at a medical office for 10 years.
Marianne was truly a light in this world. Her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and charming elegance enchanted those around her. She was known for her sweet spirit of humility, generosity and compassion. She had a deep affection for her nieces and nephews and loved to spend time with all her family at home or on adventures. She was a loving mother and wife who cherished her family most. She was a true and loyal friend who adored spending time with her girlfriends whether it was lunch, shopping or a trip. She had a gift for making everyone she encountered feel important and valued. She had a deep appreciation for nature, especially in the summer months. She enjoyed cycling, hiking, concerts, beach days and traveling, especially to Canada and Hawaii.
Throughout her battle with cancer Marianne remained the optimistic, kind beautiful woman she had always been. Her delightful zest for life continued until the end. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing for Marianne Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, UT. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private family service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
