Marlene Josephine (Wilcox) Davis

June 7, 1951 ~ April 20, 2020 (age 68)


Marlene J. Wilcox Davis, 68, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020 at her home after a long fight with multiple illnesses.   Marlene was born June 7, 1951 in Vallejo, California to Rodney and Ila Hansen Wilcox.  She married Clyde W. Davis on February 28, 1970 in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Marlene grew up in Vallejo and graduated from Hogan High School in 1969.   She met Clyde during their genealogy class in Sunday School while he was decommissioning a ship in the nearby naval shipyard.   They were married three months later.

After Clyde was discharged in 1974, they moved to Utah where they raised their two sons, Jeffrey Clyde and Benjamin Tyler.

Marlene was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially enjoyed her 30+ years serving in the Young Women’s Organization.   She was a talented seamstress, loved to camp and cook Dutch oven, and enjoyed toll painting on wood.  Marlene was fun-loving person and was the life of any gathering.   Her countenance put a smile of everyone’s face.

She is survived by her husband Clyde; two sons: Jeffrey (fiancée, Liz) Davis and Benjamin (Ashley) Davis; five grandchildren: Kylie, Aujanae, Taj, Shelby, and Blake; three siblings: Ila Maria (Paul) Scarpa, Robert Wilcox and Grant (Nancy) Wilcox.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde’s parents, Ruth and Howard Davis and her brother, Rodney Robert Wilcox.
