On October 22, 2020, May Schaerrer Morgan stepped peacefully from this life into a heavenly place full of love and family. May was born in Payson, Utah on January 29, 1940 to Shadrach and Leora Schaerrer.
She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended LDS Business College and worked at the famous Hotel Utah. May was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She raised her family in the church while happily serving for many years in Primary Presidencies and in the Young Women’s program.
May attended nursing school at Gavilan College in Gilroy, California. She worked at Hazel Hawkins Convalescent Hospital for 15-years. May married William Morgan in 2002*** and enjoyed many of her retirement years living in Paso Robles, California. In 2012 Bill and May settled in American Fork, Utah. After moving to Utah, May enjoyed serving as a Patron in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah. She passed away peacefully at Utah Valley Regional Hospital with family by her side.
May loved her family and living life. She loved the outdoors and especially loved walking on a warm sandy beach. She enjoyed photography and spent many hours capturing beautiful images of nature. She enjoyed gardening and sharing that love with her grandchildren. She loved to dance and passed that love onto her daughters and granddaughters. May served her fellow man and never shied from offering friendship to those in need. One of her greatest joys was serving as a temple patron and shared many of her experiences with her children and grandchildren. May loved her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Shadrach and Leora Schaerrer, brother Neil Schaerrer, sister Linda Schaerrer Bevins, and son-in-law Duane Engard. She is survived by her five children, Laurie Arbolay (Rob), Mark Woods (Liz), Kim Engard (Duane), Diana Jimenez (Trino), Linda Russell (James), 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, and Sister Kay Winn.
May will be laid to rest in the Payson City Cemetery in Payson, Utah, on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. where a graveside service will be held. Family members and friends are warmly invited to attend. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
