Ronda (Marrott) Tomlinson

March 27, 1940 ~ May 26, 2022 (age 82)

Ronda (Marrott) Tomlinson, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022. She was born March 27, 1940, to Ascil and Martha Marrott in Orem, Utah. She was the youngest of 8; she had 3 older brothers and 4 sisters; 1 returned to heaven 2 years before she was born. She always remembered her sister, who passed at a young age and had unconditional love for her.

She attended Orem High School graduating in 1958. Ronda had many friends. She often talked about the bathroom vanity in her childhood home, where they would get ready for dances and dates. Ronda enjoyed her high school years and was proud to have served as student body vice president at Lincoln Jr High (1954-1955). In April 1959, Ronda married Lowell Tomlinson; she spent 61 years by his side. Together they raised seven wonderful children. She worked side by side on the family farm with many extended family and friends, always caring for everyone while working.

Ronda worked for Alpine School District as a lunch worker for 20 years. Throughout this time, Ronda developed great friendships with these coworkers, leading to lunch dates and many visits. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and make quilts. People always commented on her excellent meals, treats, and the amazing flowers in her yard.

When we saw that mom could no longer care for her flowers, our family divided up the chores to care for our mom's flowers and ensure her flower beds were beautiful and weedless. She loved to play games with her family and her grandchildren and spent hours putting puzzles together. When her health declined to keep her spirits up, she put together puzzles with dear family and friends. She had a powerful connection with her siblings, and being the youngest, she loved caring and serving for them as they got older. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. Serving in many callings throughout her years. A few of her favorites were Young Women's president and ward librarian. Through her kindness and desire to serve, she touched many lives.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, a son, and 2 grandsons. She is survived by her children Luan (Ron) Cartwright, Cliff (Teri) Tomlinson, Todd (Luette) Tomlinson, Chris (Collette) Tomlinson, Sharlyn (Jon) Devenish, and Jeff (Lacey) Tomlinson, 20 Grandchildren, and 12 (soon to be 13) Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lindon Utah Spring Gardens Assisted Living staff for their love while caring for our mom.
