Roy Fred Jensen, 67, of American Fork passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 from complications with cancer. Roy was born August 17, 1953 in Provo, Utah.
He was born to Fred Grant and Miriam Duke Jensen. He married Sherry Fotheringham on May 1, 1974 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Roy grew up in American Fork, Utah and graduated from American Fork High School in 1972.
Roy raised his family in American Fork with his sweetheart Sherry. Roy worked closely with his father in the electrical industry and together they created Fred Jensen and Son Electric. After his father's passing, he joined together with his two best friends, Dennis Parker and Randy Mott, to create JPM Inc. d.b.a. Tri-Phase Electric. One of Roy's greatest passions is University of Utah football. He purchased season tickets in the early 1980s and has enjoyed going to the games with his family and friends ever since. He enjoyed traveling and cruises, and more recently visited Denmark while tracing his roots back to his Danish ancestors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Roy is a great family man and had a unique ability to make friends everywhere he went. Roy will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him. We find comfort in knowing he was able to go home and be reunited with the love of his life and many other loved ones.
He is survived by his four children: Brandi (Joshua) Spears, Heber City; Dustin (Kimberly Ivie) Jensen, Lehi; Derek Jensen, Lehi; and Colby (Olga Ivanenko) Jensen, St George; five grandchildren: Sadie, Markelle, Hayden, Brynlee, and Addison; siblings: Patricia (Richard) Kirkwood, Kathy Colledge, Elayne (Jay) Storrs, Jeanine (Rex) Wanlass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Fotheringham, his father Fred Jensen, and his mother Miriam Jensen.
Family and friends may attend an evening viewing Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork Ninth Ward Chapel, 673 East 300 North, American Fork, Utah with a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
