Ruby Virginia Perry Young, 101 years young, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2020. Ruby was born March 28, 1919 in Grovant, Wyoming to Thomas William and Bertha Stevens Perry. She married Doyle Boyd Young on November 23, 1938 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Doyle passed away in 1990.
The Perry family moved to Heber when Ruby was a young girl. She attended schools there and graduated from Wasatch High School. Ruby and Doyle made their home in Heber and later moved to Pleasant Grove where they raised their three children. Ruby was the consummate homemaker and her children remember their mother as a wonderful cook and seamstress. Ruby always invited anyone in need into her home for a good home-cooked meal. She could always be relied on as a person to confide in and had great compassion for everyone. Ruby was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She and Doyle served a full-time mission to the Akron Ohio mission and loved their association with the people there. Her family was her life!
She is survived by her three children: Margurette (Doug) Hansen; Thomas Walter (Marinda) Young and Linda Dawn (Lynn) Swenson; 20 grandchildren and many loving great and great great grandchildren and her brother Myron (Erin) Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five siblings and a great grandson.
