Stephen B. Stott, 78, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on the morning of May 9, 2020. Stephen was born at his home in Fairfield, Montana. Stephen is the third oldest of 5 children born to Gerald R. Stott, and Eunice Mary Stott.
Stephen grew up in Fairfield, Montana on a dairy farm. He graduated from Fairfield High School, class of 1959. At the age of 22, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in London, England. After his mission, he went to the University of Montana where he met the love of his life, Susie Bell, at an Institute Social. They were engaged after a month and got married on March 20, 1968 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. They were married for 52 years. He is survived by his wife, Susie Stott and his four children; Amber Wood (Scott), Dana Stott (Kerry), Katrina Burch, and Lindie DeMill (Mitch), 12 Grandchildren, and 1 ½ Great Grandchildren. His parents, older brother, a nephew, and two nieces preceded him in death.
Stephen was a brain tumor and cancer survivor, and had many health problems throughout his life. Despite these challenges, Stephen was known for his sense of humor, and being a practical joker. He was also a hard worker, and had a very outgoing personality. He loved being around his children, grandchildren, and especially his wife.
There will be a graveside service at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, May 13. The family regrets, that due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, only immediate family may participate in the funeral services. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
