Steven Loran Gale

October 1, 1964 ~ May 17, 2022 (age 57)

Steven Loran Gale, our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, nephew, neighbor and friend passed away unexpectedly in his home from a heart attack on May 17, 2022. He is now back home in the loving arms of his parents and grandparents.

Steve was a giant of a man, not only in stature but in character, spirit and in heart. To know Steve was to know selfless service, unconditional love, true acceptance, endless laughter, undying commitment, comforting safety, and eternal friendship. He was never in too much of a hurry to stop and help another and always made time for anyone who may benefit from his service. He had a special gift of making those around him feel seen, understood, and loved. If you needed ANYTHING, you could count on Steve to be there for you. He truly loved people and valued relationships above all else.

Steve was unwaveringly devoted to his wife and family and made it his trademark to be at every event, gathering, holiday or special occasion. He was also so genuine, generous and extremely thoughtful in his gift giving. He loved to share what he had and took extreme pleasure in spoiling those around him. His written letters, emails and cards are some of his family’s greatest treasures as he put so much thought and effort into saying just the right thing!

Steve adored his 3 children and felt they were his greatest treasures….until the grandkids came along. Once he became a “papa” that was all she wrote. Steve LOVED nothing more than playing with each one of his 5 grandchildren and spent many hours with them. There is nothing he loved more than being with his family.

Aside from his family, Steve loved playing volleyball, riding motorcycles faster than he should, high quality electronics (his latest love was his drone) and fishing with his dad in Alaska.

Steve had an unwavering love for his Savior and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission for the Church to Seoul Korea, and he held many callings in the church.

Steve grew up in Rolla, Missouri but moved to Utah after his mission and that is where he met the love of his life, LaDonna. They were married in the Manti, UT Temple on Aug. 15, 1992, and were looking forward to celebrating their upcoming 30th wedding anniversary. Steve graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business management with a marketing emphasis and spent most of his career in high tech sales and cyber security.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Nord Gale, his mother Joan Gale, his father-in-law, Robert Wilcock and his nephew Jeremy Jones. He is survived by his wife LaDonna Gale, and their children Taylor (David) Kleinman, Rachel (Landon) Hammond, Jesse and Malia Gale and grandchildren Emerson, Will, Oaker, Cal and Luke. His siblings are Dawna and Robert Johnston, Sheri and Barry Jones, Bobette and Greg Herman, Bob and Kathy Wilcock, Aimee and Mike Davis, Jonathan and Wendi Wilcock, David and Emily Wilcock, Michelle and Tracy Burnham, Janet and Jeff Garner, and Liliya Hristova. Steve was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly.

John 14:2-3 “2 In my Father’s house are many mansions… 3 I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also.”
